Place the two 35-inch pieces of wood vertically and parallel so they are standing at their edge of 35 inches and 35 inches. The distance between the outer edges of the sheets of wood should be 24 inches. Screw your 24-inch sheets of laminated wood to the 17-inch boards on the 35-inch sheet of plywood; one on each end. It should have a rectangular frame with exterior measurements of 24 inches by 36 inches. Turn the frame face down and one of you put your 36 inch sheets of wood over the frame.
